"before the light parade" ~ sld

Tonight was the Lighted Boat Parade in Morro Bay. Continuing the tradition, the White Caps Community Band, joined by the San Luis Obispo County Band, played on the South T Pier during the procession. Always fun and particularly enjoyable this evening since we hardly needed jackets. Some years it’s been freezing. We sat there wrapped up like Nanook, trying to play our instruments with our gloves on. Curiously fun in its own way, but this was definitely nicer.

Several of us met beforehand at Tognazzini’s Dockside Restaurant. I took the above photo just after dinner, before we went over to the pier to set up.

I didn’t catch any pics of the boats in the parade (they usually look more like fireworks anyway – too long of an exposure + boats on the move), but I did manage to get one of an anchored vessel. Pretty lights.
