story synopsis

I thought it might be interesting to create a synopsis for my novel, Sing to Me Softly, through a series of haiku . . .

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

he married her for
shallow reasons — he didn’t
want a wife to love

to perform a role
create the right impression
dangerous façade

then she held a life, a
pure heart in altered raiment
joy and sorrow merged

too much, too little
an empty vow lay between
her hopes torn, shattered

darkness, unknown truths
revealed give light, pierce shadows
breaking, mending bonds
