Haiku This | Udell Photographics

Recently, Steve Udell — a friend of ours and an excellent photographer — held a contest for the 5th graders at Bauer/Speck elementary school to write haiku poems that were interpretations of one of Steve’s images. I had the fun of reading some of the poems the kids submitted last year. They were wonderful!

This year he also invited some of us who were in 5th grade some time ago to join in as well. You can see this year’s “Haiku This” image and read the kids’ (and others’) poems on Steve’s blog at: Haiku This | Udell Photographics

Here’s the haiku I wrote . . .

spring’s gift turned gold, red
edges, veins, lingers on grey
threads, above brothers
